This was found in a box of old instrument parts from a music store (Collins Clarksville, Tn.) this store was in operation early 1900s. The following is the only lead I found… “It is likely that the initials "J C" on your violin bridge refer to J.C. Maurer, who was potentially a German or Austrian violin maker or merchant. One search result mentions a "J.C. Maurer" name written in ink inside a mystery violin, suggesting a person associated with the instrument trade.)
