Used throughout contemporary popular music, Hi-Hats consist of two cymbals that are mounted on a specialist stand, one on top of the other, and clashed together using a pedal on the stand. When struck closed or played with the pedal, the hi-hat gives a short, crisp, muted percussive sound.
