16" Sabian AA Medium Thin Crash Cymbal - amazing patina - Acoustic dream! While the Sabian AA series is typically known for being bright and explosive, this has matured beautifully over time. The dark natural patina has naturally mellowed out the high-end frequencies. It now has a warm, smoky, and complex character that sounds far closer to a premium Sabian HH (Hand Hammered) or vintage Zildjian K. It offers a smooth, buttery stick feel, a lower-pitched explosive wash, and a fast, musical decay. The edges are smooth with no rough flea bites or dings though there is a very tiny bit of spidering around the hole (see last pic). This is reflected in pricing and hasn’t affected the sound in my humble opinion; it really is a unique-sounding Sabian with an incredibly dark acoustic voice.
