Note: I have two 1979 Marathon 4 basses up for sale (the other is in wine red) and only need one. Which ever sells first, I will cancel the other listing. Very cool 1979 Marathon bass in black finish. As is typical for 70s Shergolds there is tons of finish checking and lacquer cracking as well as lots of dents/mojo from being gigged). Weighs just under 8 pounds as its light obeche wood-bodied, unlike the very earliest (Burns-bodied) Marathons which could be 9-10 pound boat anchors. UK delivery or collection from safe public space in London SW13 (Barnes station car park). Why sell? Because I have been offered a rare-as-hen's-teeth Peter Hook signature Yamaha BBPH which will replace one of my two Marathons.
