Antique Grenadilla Flute, Germany , Key Of D, A=415hz. With Case

£260.52

A decent example of the Nach Meyer This is mid 1800s low play pitch. Plays in pitch at 2nd register especially well. It would benefit from new pads as the old leather pouches have hardened - although still sealing holes. The cork stopper has a titanium disc glued onto it to improve intonation. The case closes but no key to lock it is provided. The cork tenons fit well and the nickel silver collars are in place and are nicely fluted as decoration. Playing at 415hz means that it plays a semitone below modern pitch. This is the standard tuning for early and mid 18th century music.
