Name: Review:
This pedal has undoubtedly become my go-to overdrive option, boasting an impressive range from subtle to quite extreme, which I find particularly appealing when playing in a mono setup or with instruments like guitars and basses. It's been really nice when paired with my Waza tone-shifting device for that classic sound used by many rock and blues bands. Although it may not be the best fit for metal music, as there are other distortion pedals on the market that offer more aggressive tones, I've found this pedal to be perfect for a variety of popular styles. It's definitely worth considering if you're looking for a reliable overdrive pedal that can deliver great sound across different genres. Having it in my amp has made a significant difference when it comes to tone, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who's looking for a solid option.

The product delivered on its promise, meeting my expectations with ease. However, the extra features and customization options that came with it were a mixed bag for me. In retrospect, I wish there was a balance between what you get for your money and what's added as 'extras'. Overall, it does the job, but the added features are not justified in their price.

I've held off buying this tuner for ages, but finally made the switch to complete my pedal board with one. It's a multi-mode device that effortlessly handles 7-string guitars and 5-string basses, allowing me to easily adjust to drop tunings using the front panel mode control. One clever hack I intend to use is as a signal splitter for effects pedals - by exploiting its two outputs ("output" and "bypass"), I can set up two FX chains behind it, each with my favorite vintage and modern pedals.

The pedal has always run from 9v PP3 batteries or a wall-wart power supply that's *not* provided. Fortunately, I've planned to power it from an adapter cable connected to a TrueTone outlet that offers 12v power - the fact that it can share this with other Boss pedals is a major plus.

I believe the TU-3 also steps down the power to conform to older pedal designs, making it feel like my old compressor/sustainer pedal - I think it's a clever nod to those iconic pedals. The display can be adjusted for higher brightness, but its relatively high power draw makes it best suited for brighter environments.

The enclosure is as tough and compact as all Boss pedals, with easy access points for everything except the battery compartment (which has been removed since I don't play live). This pedal comes with a fully installed battery that's been used to test my equipment. To keep this one in good condition, I recommend keeping a spare battery on hand - just be aware of the potential power draw if you're using it as a daisychain with other pedals.

I've found its locking mechanism to be phenomenal, responding well even to low notes like the B on both 7-string guitars and 5-string basses. My trusty Korg Pitchblack rack tuner is considered one of the best - this pedal definitely holds its own, offering features like flatting options that take my tuning game to new heights. It's a regular workhorse in my studio, allowing me to experiment with intricate pedal routing hacks.
