This small, double-string guitar is a traditional Portuguese instrument called Viola de Braga or Viola Braguesa. Existing since the XVII century, it has 10 paired strings. The scale is 50cm and the best tuning for a traditional guitar player would be g, d, Bb, F, C (like a guitar on 3rd fret without the 6th string).
