This full size violin is French, made in the Mirecourt region in 1899. Overall it is in very good condition. A hairline crack had appeared in the vicinity of the sound-post on the top plate, but has not travelled through to the inside. A repair inside has been effected as though the crack had gone through completely, so the strength has been restored. There are similar very small cracks at the top of the top plate and these has also been effectively repaired. Fitted with new bridge, Rosewood pegs/Tailpiece/Chinrest, and sporting a set of Larsen Il Canone solo strings. It sounds very good and old and is suitable to Grade 8 and beyond. The bow is straight and has been rehaired. Any test welcome. More photos available on request.
