John R 'Johnny' Cash was born J.R. Cash in Kingsland Arkansas on Feb 26th 1932 and died on Sept 12th 2003 in Nashville Tennessee. In the 1970s Martin was approached to design and build a guitar exclusively for 'The Man In Black' and this guitar would be the Martin D35 Johnny Cash Guitar.
