I'm not a musician. I'm not able to test this device for accuracy. However, I put a brand new Maxell battery in it. I tried to whistle and hold the pitch as constant as I could and the device does react to the sound. It's in good looking condition aside from a rust colored spot on the corner of the foam in the case.
