A fantastic 1970’s vintage Les Paul Special made in Japan “Lawsuit Era” guitar. I’ve included a screenshot from Reverb for an almost identical guitar they had for sale which explains a bit about where it was made in Japan. Notice the comment about Sunatone which is what this guitar is. The history is that during the 70’s, Gibson put a ban on Japan making copies of their guitars. This was because there was a period where they were being made too well for the price and even rivalling Gibsons high end guitar quality so that’s when the lawsuit came into effect. Plays really well and sounds amazing for a 50 year old guitar. P90’s are very warm and thick sounding. It’s a cool guitar to have for the age and its history.
