The Meinl Sonic Energy Wind Gongs are traditionally handcrafted in China using a special bronze alloy. The gongs are also known as Feng or Sun Gong. The shape is almost flat, which means that the vibration of the gong spreads extremely strongly and maintains a long resonance. The sound characteristics are predominantly deep and if you play the gong more forcefully, it develops beautifully with wave-like overtones.
