My husband had been itching to pick up his brass trombone again after five years, and I decided to treat him to a Jigs PBone as an impulse buy while he was weighing his options on whether to splurge on a new one. As much as he loved the idea of buying a brand-new instrument, it was going to set us back over three thousand pounds - not exactly what we were in the mood for right then.

The price tag made me think twice about taking him out, but after doing some research I discovered that Jigs PBone is definitely worth considering. They're incredibly well-crafted instruments that play beautifully and come with a wonderful sound quality. The bottom register on mine sounds particularly nice, if not slightly thin in the top end - but overall it's more than adequate.

The slide has one minor issue: it's a bit sticky to operate at first, which I suspected might be an area for improvement from the start. But what struck me about this instrument is its fantastic portability - it's perfect for kids and even adults with limited mobility who want to give playing a brass instrument a try.

Despite some drawbacks that are worth noting - like a thin top register - Jigs PBone has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for people on a budget. For children, the lightweight design makes it an ideal option, while those with limited arm strength or disabilities can enjoy the experience too. And let's be real, this is going to make traditional brass instruments look like something out of a museum - but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

If I'm being completely honest, there are some serious issues with this product, from the sticky slide to the questionable sound quality on top end - but at the same time it has genuinely made me happy. The PBone is a game-changer for anyone looking to get back into playing brass instruments without breaking the bank, and for that I'm truly grateful.

Years of playing valve brass have left me with an unshakeable passion for the euphonium, and as a young musician, I had my sights set on trombone before eventually discovering my true calling on that instrument. A stint as a junior player allowed me to hone my skills, but it was when I stumbled upon the euphonium that I found my true home. For 20 odd years now, I've been playing euphonium/Baritone, and it's been an incredible journey. Recently, we've had a shortage of trombone players in our band, which has presented me with a unique opportunity to explore new sounds.

I was intrigued when I stumbled upon the idea of filling in for trombone parts on euphoniums, and I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, the instrument proved to be incredibly versatile, handling both the lightest and heaviest notes with ease. The Euphonium is certainly not an inexpensive option, but its sound is well worth the investment.

Playing brass instruments like trombone demands a certain level of technical proficiency, particularly when it comes to arm muscles. However, I was pleased to discover that my new PBone has helped me build up these skills over time, allowing me to play for hours without feeling the strain on my joints. The slide is absolutely fantastic – I've tried playing instruments with less-than-perfect slides before, but the PBone's glide is truly remarkable.

Overall, I'm thoroughly enjoying my experience with the PBone, and I'm excited to see where this new opportunity takes me.

I picked up this trombone out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised. As a seasoned musician with 30 years under my belt, I thought "this is going to be a dud" but also caught some great videos on YouTube by Jiggs Whigham and other notable musicians. Seeing how others used it had me wondering if there was anything truly special about this instrument. After watching those videos, I decided to give it a shot.

I've been playing the trombone for years, and in my experience, high-quality instruments are made with attention to detail and craftsmanship. This instrument exceeded all of my expectations, even before I'd had a chance to properly play it. It sounds incredibly light and plays beautifully, which is exactly what I was looking for. The finish on the slide seemed off to start with, but after a few hours of regular polishing, it's smooth as silk.

I have to admit, the zippers on my gig bag are a bit flimsy - they feel like they'll hold up for maybe 10 minutes at best. Considering I've invested so much time and effort into setting up this instrument, it's a little disappointing to see such poor quality materials. But given its incredible price point, I'm thrilled with the value I'm getting out of this trombone.

Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with this trombone and would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a new instrument - especially considering the low cost is equivalent to a decent mouthpiece.
