There is a video demo on youtube - search ‘Trumpet Felt Mute Demo’. Use in Gershwin where “Mute (with felt crown)” or “In hat with felt crown” is indicated. Use in place of a bucket mute – softens the sound in a similar way but doesn’t colour the sound as much.
