Vintage Chartola Grand zither guitar harp manufactured by The Chartola Co. of Jersey City, NJ. This antique stringed instrument features a rich wood grain finish with ornate gold-tone decals, including a central eagle crest and decorative borders around the sound hole. The face includes a chord bar attachment and numerical/alphabetical guides for play. A true piece of American musical history, this instrument serves as a fantastic restoration project or a striking rustic decorative piece for collectors of folk instruments. Metal piece in front is missing some screws. There is a crack most of the way down the front and part way down the back. Wear from age and use as can be seen in pictures.
