Here is a lovely vintage Clifford Essex banjo ready to play. It is a Regal model made during the 1930s. Serial number is 433. Overall in great condition, there is some age related wear and a small area on the top bezel has lost its nickel plating. There is a new ( old stock) head, Bridge and new Clifford Essex ultra light strings, everything else is original. As to be expected from a quality maker it has great intonation and rings beautifully the entire fingerboard. Frets are good for many more years. Action at the twelfth fret is 1/8inch. This is a players banjo. The original case has had 75% of its outer covering replaced ( pre renovation photo shown)
