For what it's worth, my son played it and it sounded great (after a few tries). My son was Drum major for Claremont High School and excelled at trumpet, so he was/is probably a bit more qualified than the average novice, but still, the bugle still works. It has a few small dents and dings but nothing egregious and certainly nothing indicating abuse or neglect.
