Vintage valiha tube zither - made of bamboo with metal strings (15) and wooden tuners/bridges, measures approximately 26 3/4” L x 2 1/4” in diameter, decorated with trees, buildings, flowers and oxen, not marked but from Madagascar. The valiha is the national instrument of Madagascar. I’m not sure if this is meant to be more of a decoration rather than a musical instrument. Condition is fair to good - minor surface wear, missing one string, missing some bridges (not sure if each string is supposed to have one or two - some have two, some have one and some have none), some surface rust on strings, some are a little loose, some made a nice sound, some wear on the hide bands, not cracks, fairly clean.
