It is made of purple and tan woven rattan like fibers, and I believe the bottom is made from dried gourd. It is filled with seeds or something similar and when shaken, it makes noise similar to a maraca rattle. The sound varies depending on the angle it is held when shaken. It has a beautiful rich sound and is in excellent primitive condition with very little wear. Note: This is not a toy and is not suitable for young children.
